Statement

Color is the most important factor for me in making jewelry because I used to paint traditional Japanese paintings. I have been familiar with and love beautiful colors of the painting. I have been making art jewelry for five years and still have strong interest in color.

By weaving metal, silk and nylon threads together with Japanese paper, I can have unanticipated subtle color which cannot be earned without Japanese paper. Interesting and unexpected effects can be produced by making woven material into a three-dimensional shape and by the rhythm of combination of colors, light and shadow. I enjoy those effects when I make jewelry.
