Hanne Behrens: From Tønder to Cambridge, Part 1

Hanne Behrens, the remarkable Danish metalsmith, has been a studio jeweler since 1985. Working exclusively in textile techniques she is inspired by Indian braiding, Maori weaving, Danish pre-historic and viking period metal work, as well as lace making.
Behrens’ works have been featured at the Art Museum in Tønder (Museum Sønderjylland Tønder) in 2007, 2014, and most recently from March-October in 2021. It is Behrens’ jewelry from her most recent exhibition that will be featured at Mobilia Gallery, opening December 4 , 2021 and closing January 15, 2022.
