Statement
Along with dreams, gardening is my other greatest source of inspiration. I think of my garden as my outdoor studio. Watching seeds sprout and grow is just as magical as experiencing an idea transform into a painting. The garden supplies endless opportunities to study color, light and form. I am fascinated with studying plants, not just their shapes and color but also their cells and physiology.
Several years ago I started collecting antique glass beads. I discovered the beads can be woven together to create an extraordinary fabric of color and light. These translucent beaded pieces allow me to combine images from dreams with my knowledge of painting, while simultaneously expressing my ideas about cells, molecules and energy.
