Travel to Europe, take in breathtaking vistas and re-live the year the Red Sox broke the curse and won the world series through David Flicker Brown’s incredible manipulated digital photographs. Each image is made in an edition of five, plus a single artist proof and all are mounted on aluminum composite and protected from UV light.

Statement

These photographic “cells” are produced using an average of 25-30 single photographs. Each single image takes close-up individual focus of every element of the landscape from the ground beneath my feet to the atmosphere overhead. This is an attempt to compile a sense of total acknowledgement of the small and large, natural and manufactured, forms around me and amalgamate them into a singular harmonic form that can be considered all at once. The Darwinian nature of all forms becomes more evident as their innate reoccurrence, a testament to their evolutionary strength, is reinforced by a system of repetition in post-production.
