    24” long X 3.3” wide

The collier “ C Y A N O P E P L A ” is inspired by what the Germans call “die blaue Stunde” - “the blue hour” - which is the phenomenon that takes place in the evening when the sky becomes gradually more and more darkblue before it eventually turns complete black. Especially in winter, when the trees are bare, one can see the black structures of treetops and twigs against the dark blue sky. It is one of my favourite times of the day because I like the calm, gradual and mysterious transition.

The earrings “ D I S C O I D E A ”, emerged really from the colliers named above. I was inspired by individual ‘plastarelles’, to put them together, and by doing so creating new small compositions.

The collier “ V E R N A L I S ” represents the change from winter to spring. There are still a lot of black and white contrasts in nature but coulour is also unstoppingly making its way into a new year and marking the beginning of new life.

The collier “ C A R L I N A A C A U L I S ” is inspired by a winters’ landsscape of a rocky seacoast in the south of England. For this piece I used for the first time transparent and silvercoloured PE-granules in order to represent the wintery sky and sea. I was fascinated by the monochrome landscape which still was very dynamic due to it’s endless variety in ‘whites, greys and zilvers’.

In my work I am inspired by botanical nature, landscapes and the four seasons. For the last fifteen years I have developed a unique technique using thermoplastics such as PE (Polyethelene) and PMMA (Acrylic). These materials are the basis for my technical research into form, color and structure.

Pressed colored PE granules and threads are arranged into a mini collage.
By heating and pressing the collage, the loose elements merge into one piece to create very light and flexible forms. I do not use templates, the contour and the pattern of these forms are created by the impact of pressure. After completing each form they are strung together on a oxidized silver chain.
