"My work is profoundly influenced by the Australian landscape. Even though I left the country when I was twelve, my memory of that physical space is instilled in me and often set off by quite inexplicable, seemingly unassociated things. A trip to Central Australia with my parents confirmed for me the physical impact of the endless expanse and power of the earth in relation to man. Hence my art has, as subject, the pull between man and the earth and vice versa, our own impact on the universe." - Jinx Nolan
